Today we added Twitter support for Startpix. From now on you can choose to share your links also directly to Twitter. You can set it up in User Settings.
What will it do? Anytime you add a website to your Startpix, you can choose to also share it to Twitter. If you check the ‘to twitter’-box Startpix send an update to your Twitter account with the description you added for the link and a url to the website you’ve added.
Sharing is an important part of Startpix. We’re adding nice features at the moment to make your online life easier and more fun!
Adding Twitter support is just the first step. You will soon have your first shared grid and can start sharing personalized grids on your favourite social sites and your blog.
Last week a major upgrade was finished on the Startpix performance.
We migrated to a new server, finished some engineering adjustments and got our speed back!

Making your own visual start page!
In the following weeks we will let you get used to the sharing parts of Startpix.
This means you will be able to deploy shared grids for all different means. Think of a nice dynamic blogroll for your blog. Your dynamic favourites box on Facebook or one of your other social sites and your own Startpix shared grid (http://yourusername.startpix.com)
Install the bookmarklet:
This enables you to easily add sites you like to your grid. Adding can be done by just clicking your mouse, nothing else is necessary. You find the bookmarklet and some small instructions in ‘user settings’.
Set Startpix as your homepage:
You can setup you own Startpix as your homepage. There is an auto login link which you can set as your homepage. This means you don’t need to login with your username and password, but just open a browser and start surfing! (you find instructions about this in the ‘user settings’tab.

The Session time for your login was changed to 12 hours.
We had some complaints that the session expired too soon. Right now, especially if you use Startpix on a shared computer, logout or close the browser after you’re done surfing!
BTW: all your comments on usability are helpful and well appreciated.
Today we finalized some more features again. Startpix should make your life (a little) easier, so user interface and consistency is everything. There is still a lot of work to do but the basics are working just fine. We’ll start letting people test drive the system so we can see how they like it and what we should change, add or delete.

Today we uploaded a big update and added some gr8 tools. Soon the alpha version will be ‘launched’. If you want to part of the invites please pre-register at the site.
